Manager Posts: 1,787 Group: Manager Member #4 Joined: Jan 29, 2008 Favorite Player(s): Brian McCann and Jeff Francoeur	Is anyone aware that Casey has quietly gotten a 5 game hitting streak going? Nothing like coming to a new team, contributing and no one even notices that you have a hitting streak going. Well, Casey has done that. So after a week of seeing Casey, what is everyone's impression of him? Yeah, he didn't start very good but he is getting it going. The glove work looks good, he doesn't have much power but he gets those gap hits. We got him for a while and he is arbitration eligible which we won't have to pay him as much. I will get a 1st hand look at him, up close, next Saturday when I head to Atlanta to see the Braves against the Giants.

It doesn't seem to bother him where he is hitting in the lineup, he just likes to be in Atlanta. Today, he is hitting in the 3rd spot. Tomorrow, he could hit in the 2nd spot, just depending who is pitching. Going to try and get his autograph.

Then again, I haven't been able to see very many games at all this year. I think he'll be a high average-limited pop guy. Imagine if he turned into a Mark Grace type. I'd take that in a heart beat.

I don't mind having him at first base, i do think that he will turn out to be alot better player than what he is now.

Unless we get two big bats in the outfield I wouldn't. Right now we are severely limited in terms of power. We have Chipper and Brian. We dont have a team built to play small ball because we have no team speed. And we can't execute basic fundamentals. Casey is a good player for us while he is cheap. But he's a complimentary player.
