Kala didn't go deep, but his OPS is about to break the .800 plateau in AA. Since May 1st he's hitting .275/.402/.519/.921 with 7 homeruns, 10 doubles, 27 walks, 26 RBIs, 46 K's in 42 games. |

Kala finishes the month in great style. Went 2-4 last night with his 12th HR of the year. .267/.403/.456/.859 - season .351/.441/.594/1.035 - last 10 games .319/.462/.486/.948 - July (his K/BB ratio for all you haters 17:16 for the month) .294/.424/.523/.947 since May 1st. His May 1st spans 231 at-bats. In that time frame, he's hit 12 HRs and 17 doubles (29 XBH out of 68 total hits). He's hit over .300 in June and July. He's also maintained an isoOBP (OB% - BA) over 130 those months. Since May his K/BB is 52/71. Each month it has gotten better. May - 18/36 June - 17/19 July - 17/16 |

Kala - 4/4 with a double. Now hitting: .393/.540/.571/1.111 - last 10 games .342/.509/.474/.983 - August .301/.438/.516/.954 - Since May 1st .275/.416/.458/.875 - for the year. Now...aint it about time to admit that he's not as bad as some of you have made him out to be? BTW, since May 1st his BB/K is 66:83 in 279 at-bats. Since June 1st (he was 18:36 in May) its 48:47. |

I don't think I ever said anything bad about KK. He has finally found his swing, which is a good thing, it just gives us that added depth at 1B. I would love to see what he does at the next level next year before I am completely on the KK wagon. I know he struggled last year, this year he is having a great year, lets make sure this isn't a one year thing. |

Next level being Richmond? I'm somewhat in agreement. I dont think he'll learn much of anything in Richmond. I'd rather see the team bring him up in September and get his feet wet. He'll struggle and look completely overmatched but its a good start. He'll likely start in AAA in 2009, hopefully being a mid-season call-up. |
