That was quote from Dave O'Brien thinking we might be showcasing Brandon Jones. Why else would the braves send down Josh Anderson who was hitting very well up in the majors? Link |

I've been thinking that, but I want to know why. We aren't really in a state to buy right now. A starting pitcher isnt going to get us anywhere, the phillies are too good. I'd rather us sell and spend in the offseason. |

We aren't seeing Wren doing alot of interviews lately. I doubt we will see Smoltz, Glavine and Hampton back, which frees up $45M if I am not mistaken. Plus you got other "small" contracts that will come off the books. From what I read on the braves website, they had a article where they discussed who could possibly be on the trading block in the way of position players and pitchers. C.C. Sabbathia, who the Indians couldn't sign to an extension, Matt Holliday, who has another yr and half on his contract, Bay/Nady of the Pirates. Would it be worth going after someone we would have to fight to resign like Sabbathia or try to shore up LF with a power hitter in Holliday or Bay? I just don't get it, why send Anderson down to bring up Brandon Jones unless they are show casing him to trade him for help, whether in the pitching or LF help. |

I think so Murph. From what I caught on TV last night, he did play. Didn't watch much of it since I was busy doing homework. With the number of OF'ers down on the farm, showcasing Brandon Jones for what, a mid level prospect? I know you follow the minors a little closer, was Brandon good, average or below average at Richmond, Murph? |

Now I am even more confused as to why the Braves are "Show Casing" him, if that is his line. *looks for a wall to bang head* |
