It seems Heyward has a 7 game hitting streak going. Just looking at his stats and he is amazing.

He is hitting .325 with 4 HR and 19 RBI's and 8 SB's.

We drafted him last year if I recall. I am going to see him next weekend in Hickory. If this kid is the stud we all envision him to be, I am going to see a star in the making.

Cody Johnson, Frederick Freeman and Steve Evarts are also with Rome.

8 SB's is impressive. i know we all expect him to bulk up, but if he can maintain some sort of speed he could still be looked at as an outfielder/1B..

He has actually played a few games in CF as well. The dude is just a strait up athletic freak. I really dont think he will become a first basemen. At least not till later in his career.

i know he's still a few years off, but im already anticipating his debut with the big league club.

hopefully he continues to develop as a complete hitter.

Why not? His bat should be available anywhere in a power position and if 1B is the most glaring need...

Plus his video has him as a 1B, and its not like its a demanding position...

when u consider that heyward is a stud prospect and teixeira is gonna cost a fortune to keep, grooming heyward for first base is a solid move , becasue i believe he could start right away there next year if tex is gone. That would leave open money for solid free agents (i dont know who's available for the most part, but if tex leaves, we could possibly afford cc sabathia) and really make teh braves a more solid team... I really love the idea of him at first base

lol next year. If you got athleticism why let it go to waste by putting him at 1B. 1B is a position most people can play so def its the best choice not to put him there till end of his career. No point in putting him at 1B just because we want a franchise 1B player
