Morton with another great outting last night in Richmond. 7 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 Ks and a win ERA is now down to 1.69 in 7 starts with a BA against of .178 and a 2.6/1 K/BB ratio. How long before he replaces Chuckie? Edited by Murph2TheHall, May 14 2008, 09:05 AM.

Your guess is as good as mine. If he is doing that at Triple A wonder how long he will be there before he is moved up to the big club. This is just me, I don't think he is a splash in the pan, CJ better be looking over his shoulder. Edited by ttiger2004, May 14 2008, 11:04 AM.

According to Braves radio, the Braves have not named a starter for Game 2 of their doubleheader versus the Mets. They said the likely candidates would be either Jeff Bennett or a minor league callup, presumably Charlie Morton |

If anybody's interested, you can watch Morton's 8 innings, 13 K performance by going here and clicking on the June 3rd stream. It's completely free, just need to register. |

Can someone tell me what in the hell are we waiting for? This kid is utterly dominating down there. Do the Braves want him to get more seasoning before bring him up? I bet there are scouts from other teams watching him and are probably getting a package together to get him and whoever else they have been watching. It has taken awhile to get Morton to this point but now that he is here, it is a good thing to see. Imagine him and Jurrjens in the same rotation for years to come...wow. Then you got Hanson and Rohrbough right behind them. Unbelievable. |

yea hes tearing it up now, but the last thing you want to do is bring a young pitcher up too soon and ruin his confidence (see kyle davies). my guess is that if the braves are in a low pressure situation late in the season, you will see him called up....but you dont want to bring him up during a tight divisional race, have a couple of shaky outings, and ruin his psyche. yea i want him up here, but its high risk/high reward. if he has a couple of bad outings early, his might not recover mentally |

Today will most likely be his last start in Richmond. His next start will be in an Atlanta Braves uniform IMO. |
